They came rolled up in a box and I opened them up and fluffed the inner pillows. I left them open while I was at work. One pillow I left all 3 of the pillows in it and the other, I took the small one out. I like a firm pillow, so I used the 3 pillow system and I slept really well. I liked it. They come in a box rolled up. Just like a mattress, you have to let them expand. The quality of the pillows seems pretty decent. Long term will tell us how last. I got these on a Black Friday deal and I’m glad I bought them!

After many years of trying various types of pillows, I am happy to have found this! While I was skeptical about the whole idea, I found that trying various combinations of these pillow sizes resulted in the perfect height for me. This "just-right" pillow retains its shape, melds to my head whether I sleep on my side or back, and is soft but substantial with great loft. And it is a terrific value, especially considering how much I have spent on "orthopedic" or "designer" pillows only to be disappointed after a short time.

I've been trying to find a pillow that will delete the neck pain and shoulder pain I have. I've tried at least 10 different pillows. Finally, this one did the trick. I left all 4 inserts in the zippered outer shell even though I slep on my back. I am able to cradle my head in a comfortably soft pocket and support my neck at the same time. I gave the 2nd one to my partner who also loved it. This one is a winner. The quality is very good. Oh, one last thing, mine had no smell. Others have mentioned an odor. Nope, no odor for me.

5 stars simply because my continual neck pain no longer occurs. The customisable inserts are brilliant. My wife and I use differing sizes and both love this pillow. Very very comfortable. The only thing I would say is it started to break up internally between the 6-9 months which currently means fluffing the pillow at the start of the night now so get it consistent but still a great nights sleep with no pain so I guess need to get a pillow each year would be my suggestion but not worth decreasing stars for honestly how good this pillow is.
